Albert Abatemarco has been in long-term recovery, since May 2012 thanks to the help of drug court. He spent time at a 3 month program and a structured sober living environment in south New Jersey. Albert began volunteering at a recovery center in the Atlantic City area where he discovered the importance of the peer-to-peer recovery model. He also worked in a structured sober living facility, helping people get back into life and realize their potential. Albert now works with the OORP program for RwjBH hospital performing interventions and educating those who have found themselves in the grips of addiction. He believes the peer model is the most effective way to lasting recovery.
