David Chalmers
I’m running with the Herren Project to honor the life of my friend Sam Norton, who recently passed away while running the Santa Rosa Marathon. We fell in love with running around the same time we became friends and spent many early mornings, late nights, and weekends together running the streets of NYC. Sam was an ardent supporter of the Herren Project and I can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate his life and legacy than with friends, family, and teammates while running the boroughs of New York City supporting the admirable cause of Herren Project! I’m most proud of my journey to get to the starting line. While the adversity pales in comparison to the paths of many of my teammates, the 315lb. David who was recovering from his 3rd knee surgery in 5 years would be immensely proud to see myself running the NYC marathon 3 years later.
