What do you do for a living?
Maintenance director at Sunrise Senior Living, an assisted living for seniors.
How did you first connect with Herren Project?
I did the Spartan at Fenway in November of 2019. My first interaction was with Rebecca Helman at that Spartan Race. Little did I know that I would be going to treatment with the help of Herren Project in August of 2020.
What is your interest in/connection to recovery? Myself being in long-term recovery and wanting to be around others who are in similar situations. I’ve learned and grown so much from the connections through Herren Project.
Who is someone who inspires you? People in recovery who share their stories. It’s not easy putting it out there to others, but I’ve learned how much it helps myself and others.
What’s your favorite pastime or hobby? Running, going to the gym, and paddleboard. Anything that is outdoors.
What are you most proud of? My sobriety and the man I’ve become since getting and staying sober. I was an ugly person when I was drinking and it feels good to know I’ve left that person in the past.
What does serving as a Herren Project Ambassador mean to you? It’s an honor to be an HP ambassador. This program and everyone involved wants to help and so do I. Having this platform to help others means more to me than I can really try and put into words. I’m extremely grateful to be an ambassador and do what I can to help the person I once was.
