Rachel Scott

Director of Outreach

Prior to working for Herren Project, Rachel worked for The Los Angeles Lakers, NFL Network and KCAL 9 on sports features and documentaries. She is passionate about storytelling and believes in the power of personal stories to inspire others. Rachel graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Communication Studies, and while there was a video journalist for UCLA’s student newspaper, Daily Bruin.

Rachel was a founding member of Bruins for Recovery, a collegiate recovery program at UCLA and has spoken in DC about young people in recovery. She has been in long term recovery from drugs and alcohol since 2009. Rachel has also volunteered for Association of Recovery in Higher Education, a national nonprofit overseeing collegiate recovery programs. She received an honorable mention for a PSA entitled “Together we Can Recover” a film about ending the silence and stigma around young people struggling with addiction and that hope and recovery are attainable.
