Ryan Orgill
I am running with the Herren Project to honor the life of my amazing mother! My mom Pattie
Orgill, also known as “Grandma Pattie,” passed away four years ago. When she passed away, I
turned to running to clear my mind, gather my thoughts, and reflect on life. My mom was my
biggest fan and supporter in everything that I did in my life.
I was running one early morning and thought of running a marathon, and that is when I came
across the Herren Project. My mom had battled addiction for many years and seeing what this
project does and can do, I knew this was the project I wanted to be part of.
I have been running for many years and have gone through a great training plan. I am proud of
the support I have received from all my friends and family along the way. I can’t wait to get to
that starting line of the New York Marathon and take in that moment. I know my mom will be
there along the way, pushing and cheering me on. This has helped me be so much healthier in my
life, and I am proud to run for such a great cause!
Team Herren Strong!
