Caitlin Martin
My name is Caitlin and I live in Norwalk, CT. I work in Sales & Marketing for a living. I work with my customers on all their branding needs, start to finish. This includes graphic design, printing, promotional/marketing items, as well as any branded apparel.
I chose to run Boston with Herren Project because Herren Project has been a huge part of my life since 2017. My sister Meghan was looking to run the NYC Marathon and fundraise for a cause that was meaningful to her and came across the Herren Project with the research that she did. Once I found out more about the organization, it instantly became something I wanted to be a part of. This past year, I qualified at the Philly Marathon for the Boston Marathon… a goal I have been chasing down (again) for over 10 years.
I had my own bib and entry to the Boston Marathon, but I didn’t want to be a part of the race without being a part of the Herren Project Team. This decision connects me to this race on more of a mental and emotional level, being part of this team and this organization.
For fun, I love racing triathlons, working out at the gym, skiing and hiking with my husband and our dogs, and spending time with my family and three beautiful nieces!
I am proud to be a part of a world that’s so much bigger than me with endless opportunities to learn and grow; personally, and professionally. I’m incredibly blessed to work alongside my father every day, I am beyond grateful to have an unbelievable relationship with my siblings and I am truly proud of my mom for discovering her WHY in life while empowering those around her. For my 30th birthday, (5+ years ago) I wanted my mom, with the support of her friend and mentor, Chris Herren, to share her story on addiction as well as our family’s journey to long-term recovery, in order to offer hope for anyone who might be struggling with substance abuse disorder. This video was a huge breakthrough for not only my mom and our family but for all of those who took the time to watch it. I am beyond proud to have been a part of helping spread such a powerful message.
