When someone makes a donation through a Facebook Fundraiser, a payment receipt is sent by Facebook to the primary email listed on the donor’s Facebook account. This payment receipt includes the organization’s tax ID number and confirms that the person has made a donation as a charitable contribution and that they’re not receiving any goods or services in return.
Donors through Facebook Fundraisers may also find their donation under “Payment History” on Facebook, where a receipt can be printed. Fundraisers and donors may contact Facebook about their donations by visiting https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823.
It is important to note that the only information Herren Project receives from Facebook is the donor name and amount, unless an email is given by the donor. Because of this, Herren Project is unable to personally acknowledge all donations made to Facebook fundraisers with a thank you letter. Our team does do their best to personally acknowledge all donations made in the Facebook comments, but sometimes donations are missed. We have raised over $200k on Facebook and are grateful for all the gifts we receive. Please know that, like all donations, your are making an impact.
All donations made through our online giving page are made through Network for Good, a nonprofit Donor-Advised Fund, that is why Network for Good is the merchant of record that appears on your credit card statement. Network for Good then re-grants the funds to Herren Project on a monthly basis. This donor-advised fund is accredited by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance and meets all 20 of its standards for charity accountability.
Therefore contributions made to Herren Project on behalf of Network for Good are made through their 501c3 organization. Their tax UD number is EIN #68-0480736 and may be tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Please check with your personal tax advisor regarding deductibility of your gift.
