What do you do for a living?
I am a mental health therapist. I also had the privilege of facilitating various groups for the Herren Project for five years now, and it is the best part of what I get to do for a living. These families who support and sometimes lose their loved ones are incredible.
How did you first connect with Herren Project?
I first connected with Herren Project in March of 2020. I was looking for online recovery meetings, and I already knew of Chris Herren because of the two documentaries.
What is your interest in/connection to recovery?
I am in long-term recovery myself. I have 14 years as of 02/01/2026.
Who is someone who inspires you?
My husband. He has 28 ½ years sober, and he has made all of his dreams come true just by remaining sober and remaining true to who he is. He is the best human I know.
What’s your favorite pastime or hobby?
Doing yoga (I know it SHOULD be running, but I still do not love it). I could live on my mat. I also got approved for my work to pay for me to get certified to teach yoga. I have already begun.
What are you most proud of?
My children, Zac and Dylan. They are my whole heart.
What does serving as a Herren Project Ambassador mean to you?
It means I get to continue giving back to the organization that gave me a tribe when I needed one. I was suicidally depressed in March of 2020, and the Herren Project family helped to keep me here and to keep me sober through it all.
