Bring your school or organization together through a creative and interactive CommUNITY Board. Each bi-monthly theme inspires collaboration, self-expression, and unity, locally and nationally.

CommUNITY

September/October- Grow Through What You Go Through

Themes: Suicide Prevention – Recovery Month – Red Ribbon Week

Message: When we share our strength, we empower others to find theirs. Create a space that encourages reflection, growth, and connection. Invite your community to share how they’ve grown through a difficult time or to offer encouraging words to others.

Design:

• Label the board with the title “Grow Through What You Go Through.”

• Provide flower cutouts (petals, center of flowers, and leaves) or sticky notes for individuals to share personal insights or uplifting messages.

• Place fine-point markers and tape on a nearby table for individuals to write and post their responses.

• Set up a small resource center with materials about Suicide Prevention Month, Recovery Month, and Red Ribbon Week.

Grow Through What You Go Through

November/December- Gratitude and Giving Wall

Themes: Gratitude – Kindness – Community Support

Message: Gratitude connects us, and giving back strengthens our community. We grow stronger, one heart at a time. Celebrate thankfulness and giving back. Invite participants to write one thing they’re grateful for and support a local donation drive.

Design:

Part 1: Share Your Gratitude

• Label the board with the title: “Gratitude and Giving Wall.”

• Write the prompt on the board: “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.”

• Provide heart-shaped cutouts or sticky notes.

• Place fine-point markers and tape on a nearby table for participants to write and post their responses.

Part 2: Give Back Locally

• Label a small section of the board: “Join Us in Giving Back.”

• Promote a local giving or donation drive

• Place a collection bin on a table or on the floor under the board.

Gratitude and Giving Wall

January/February- You Will Move Mountains This Year!

Themes: Reflection • Hope • Joy

Message: Let’s welcome the New Year with hope, not pressure. This is a time for growth, reflection, and setting intentions, not perfection. Together, let’s explore the small and big ways we plan to overcome challenges and reach new heights in 2026. Create a mountain-themed landscape with a large backdrop of mountains, valleys, and sky. This board will become a visual representation of your community’s resilience and goals.

Design:

• Label the board with the title: “You Will Move Mountains This Year!”

• Write the prompt on the board: “How can you overcome challenges?”

• Provide shaped cutouts (peaks of snow, clouds, suns) or sticky notes.

• Place fine-point markers and tape on a nearby table for participants to write and post their responses.

• Include inspirational quotes about growth, perseverance, and hope for individuals to display on the board or to take with them, elevating their aspirations for the year ahead.

You Will Move Mountains This Year!

March/April- Spring into Healthy Habits

Themes: Physical Wellness • Environmental Wellness • Healthy Living

Message: Whether it’s a sunny or breezy day, engaging in physical activity and connecting with nature are key to boosting both mental and physical well-being. Let’s celebrate all the ways we move this spring. Create a board that invites your community to share their favorite way to move their bodies outdoors, regardless of ability. From biking to adaptive athletics to walking in nature, all movement is worthy.

Design:

• Label the board with the title: “Spring into Healthy Habits.”

• Create a spring-inspired scene on your board.

• Invite community members to share the ways they embrace movement and the arrival of spring through physical activity.

• Provide sticky notes and a diverse collection of magazine cutouts of outdoor activities.

• Place fine-point markers and tape on a nearby table for participants to write and post their responses and display images of favorite activities.

• Share free, local opportunities to get involved in outdoor physical activities.

Spring into Healthy Habits

May/June- Let’s Talk About Mental Health

Themes: Self-Care • Awareness • Encouragement

Message: When we discuss mental health, we reduce stigma and foster caring communities. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, focus on mental health by creating a board that offers support, resources, and encouragement.

Design:

• Label the board with the title: “Let’s Talk About Mental Health”

• Use green ribbons to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month.

• Provide green speech bubbles labeled with suggested prompts: “Leave a kind word for someone who needs it.” “One way I care for my mental health…”

• Place fine-point markers and tape on a nearby table for participants to share • encouraging words or self-care ideas.

• Include printed local and national resources and crisis contacts.

• Offer handmade green ribbons to raise awareness for mental health and serve as a reminder that every individual’s mental well-being matters.
