Aaron Rich
Aaron Rich is originally from PA but has lived in NC for the past 8 years. He has worked with children on the Autism spectrum for the last 15 years, and currently heads a clinic in Cameron, NC, which is just outside Fort Bragg.
Aaron is running Boston thanks to the gift of sobriety and the Herren Project. He first decided he wanted to run this marathon as a high school senior, after watching the huge spectacle that was the 100th running of the race. From college through his late 30’s Aaron was in active addiction, and only now, through sobriety, has he returned to the sport he loved. Aaron ran the NYC marathon for the Herren Project and was fast enough to qualify for Boston as a 42 year old! He is as excited as he was as a young runner to toe that line in Hopkinton!
Aaron loves to run, read a ton of books, run, attend his kids sporting events, run, hang out with his beautiful wife, and run!
Aaron is most proud of what he has been able to achieve through sobriety. He has been slowly working on repairing his relationships with his wife and their children. Aaron knows that being present for his family is the most amazing gift that sobriety has provided for him. He hopes to continue working toward better relationships with his family, and inspiring others to achieve this as well. Aaron believes in breaking the cycle of insanity and abuse that has no place in a loving, safe family.
