Courtney Harrness
Senior Director of Advancement
Courtney Harrness joined Herren Project in August of 2023 as Senior Director of Advancement, providing leadership to the development and marketing teams. As a seasoned nonprofit leader with a notable record of accomplishments in philanthropy, program innovation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, Courtney has driven impactful change across diverse organizations. With experience in fundraising campaigns ranging in size from $50,000 to $30,000,000, Courtney brings a unique blend of relationship-building, strategy, and implementation to his role. He has worked alongside partners and funders on projects dedicated to equitable access to healthcare, youth development programs, food access, capital campaigns, and more. Courtney holds a bachelor’s in science from Springfield College, a Post-Bachelor Certificate from the University of Vermont, a Certification in Equity Leadership from the YMCA of the North’s Equity Innovation Center, and a Global Leadership Certification from the YMCA of the USA. His expertise extends across roles, demonstrating his dedication to transformative impact and community-driven success. He views his own lived experience in recovery as a deep connection to the mission and vision of the organization and is proud to bring that experience into every conversation.
