I am happy to announce that I will be running the TCS NYC Marathon with the Herren Project on November 6, 2022.
I will be running alongside my cousins, Lauren and Steve, in memory of my cousin Kevin (Lauren’s brother), who passed away on March 8, 2020, from medical complications related to alcohol. Kevin lived life in the fast lane, always with compassion and love for his family and friends.
I am also running for the countless children and families I have worked with in my 9 years in Child Protection, who have been impacted by addiction. I have seen the devastating impacts, but also the triumphs that come with long-term recovery and reunification of families. It’s important that we continue to reduce the stigma, raise awareness, and make treatment, recovery and support services more widely available to ensure best outcomes for the children in our communities.
Every mile I run will be in Kevin’s memory and to raise awareness for the Herren Project, and with hope that families and loved ones who are struggling will find the support they need.
