What do you do for a living? I am a sales and advertising specialist for Priority Automotive Group, with my home store being Kia of Attleboro in Massachusetts.
How did you first connect with Herren Project? After following Herren Project on social for a couple of years and seeing team members at local races, I met former HP executive Pam and was encouraged to apply to be a charity runner.
What is your interest in/connection to recovery? Recovery is the foundation of my journey. On March 12, 2025, I celebrated TEN years of continued sobriety from hardcore substance abuse and alcohol abuse. I remain vocal about the joys of living a sober life as well as the power of prevention and the horrors of addiction. I have embraced a role in my local community, which includes running, fitness, my professional life, and an incredible online community as a cheerleader for ending the stigmas surrounding addiction, as well as things related to mental health.
Who is someone who inspires you? I am inspired by so many stories on a daily basis. However, my biggest inspiration comes from my two adult sons, Levi and Malik, who continue to amaze me with the incredible lives they are building. They give me the inspiration to continue to grow and stay strong in recovery.
What’s your favorite pastime or hobby? My favorite pastime is not just running but participating in events from half marathons to ultra marathons to be with the community that has literally saved my life while doing something I love. I also find tremendous joy in public speaking, sharing my story and delivering hope to others.
What are you most proud of? I have to say my sobriety is the thing I am the most proud of, coming from the darkest corners of addiction and overcoming that to build a life that includes giving back to my community and growing into a role that allows me to help others.
What does serving as a Herren Project ambassador mean to you? Serving as a Herren Project Ambassador means I am able to be part of a family that shares the same passions I do for recovery and helping others who are affected by addiction. It means I can deliver my message to more individuals and families, making a difference in an area where it is much needed. It means I can continue to learn and grow with like-minded people while serving others, and that is super important to me.
