Highland Park High School
This month, we’re shining our Herren Project Club Spotlight on Highland Park High School, where students are making a real impact with their Race to End Racism student leadership forum. For the past ten years, this annual event has brought together students from across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area to talk about race, diversity, and discrimination in a way that’s open, honest, and solution-focused.
Through panel discussions, group activities, and a keynote speaker, students dive into important conversations and work together to find ways to create more inclusive schools and communities. The event isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about taking action and making change happen.
A Highland Park Herren Project Club member shared their thoughts on this year’s event:
“We had the most AMAZING time at our 10th annual Race to End Racism forum! We had a blast while also having some extremely important and beneficial conversations. The time we spent connecting and learning with schools throughout the DFW area was incredibly impactful. We are so thankful for all the schools that joined us today to tackle the topic of racism. Together, we learned how to better serve others around us to make the world a more loving place. Also, thank you to Cleo Franklin Jr. for speaking on the power of perspective!”
At Herren Project, we love seeing young leaders step up to break down barriers and create positive change. The work Highland Park students are doing is inspiring, and we’re excited to see how their efforts continue to shape a more inclusive future.
Great job, Highland Park – keep leading the way!
