My Why
I discovered running at one of the hardest times in my life. When I was 23, I lost my brother to addiction and an overdose — a loss that completely reshaped my world. I was searching for a way to cope, and I started running. What began as an outlet for grief quickly became a source of strength, healing, and purpose. Mile by mile, step by step, running helped me move forward and turn my pain into something meaningful.
Fourteen years later, I’m still running — but now it’s for something much bigger than me. In 2026, I’ll run the 130th Boston Marathon as a proud member of Team Herren Project, raising funds to support individuals and families impacted by addiction. This race isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about honoring my brother’s memory, breaking the stigma around addiction, and showing that recovery and healing are possible.
My mantra is simple: “You GET to. This is not a punishment, it’s a privilege.” I carry that with me every step of the way, because running, recovery, and hope are all gifts.
Through my fundraising, I hope to support the Herren Project’s work and help give others the chance to rebuild their lives and find the same hope running brought me. Every donation — no matter the size — helps carry someone closer to recovery. And every mile I run is for them.
