Game Changers
Every runner has a story. Every step they take carries a purpose.
This past month, 27 courageous individuals became true game changers—lacing up their sneakers, pounding the pavement, and raising an incredible $383,552 (and counting!) for Herren Project’s mission of hope, healing, and recovery.

Whether running in memory of a loved one, celebrating personal triumphs, or igniting change in their communities, each runner laced up with one goal: to make a difference. Running for Something Bigger.
At Herren Project, we believe recovery is possible—and we know it’s something no one should face alone. Our 2025 running teams took that belief and made it visible through every mile, every step, and every story they shared along the way.
Together, these 27 runners raised critical funds to connect individuals and families with treatment placement services, recovery housing, coaching scholarships, family support groups, and prevention education provided at no charge, thanks to every donor who supported our teammates.
However, what each teammate and donor gave went far beyond the dollars raised. They gave hope. They gave new beginnings. They gave life. The medals earned by our 2025 teams aren’t just symbols of personal achievement—they represent thousands of lives touched, conversations started, hope, and the breaking of stigma. Every mile logged, every early morning training run, and every act of fundraising brought us closer to a world where no one has to navigate the challenges of substance use disorder alone.
Because of their efforts, Herren Project will be able to continue offering free programs and services that make recovery possible for individuals and families across the country.
Their spirit reminds us that recovery, like running, is a journey filled with resilience, strength, and the power of community.
Be a Game Changer
Feeling inspired? You don’t have to run a marathon to change lives. Join Herren Project’s mission: run, walk, volunteer, donate, or share your story. Together, we can change the game—and create a world where recovery is celebrated, and no one faces it alone. Because when we run for recovery, we run for life. Learn more.
