From: Fishkill, NY
What I do for a living: Assistant Superintendent for a small public-school district in Westchester County, NY
Why I choose to run New York with Herren Project:
With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in increased rates of anxiety, depression, and trauma locally and nationally, a focus on wellness, mental health, and addiction support is paramount now more than ever. As a husband, father, son, brother, and friend, I have observed and experienced how individuals can experience life to the fullest when they have access to the necessary resources and supports. For me, running is just one of the ways that I work through my own anxiety. I am honored to have the opportunity to run in the 50th Anniversary of the New York Marathon as a member of the Herren Project team – an opportunity to combine doing something I love (running) with helping others by raising awareness and money to help individuals, families, and communities living healthy and fulfilling lives free from the effects of addiction to drugs and alcohol.
What I do for fun (besides running and helping others!):
Spending time with my wife and two children, cooking, and watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and just about any sporting event.
