My Why
On April 6, 2024, my cousin died of a fentanyl overdose. I got the call as I was getting into the car to go to my early-morning run group. On the 6-month anniversary of his death, I was searching for a way to honor my cousin’s memory when I came across Herren Project. I loved everything about the Project’s mission, from the resources for those battling substance abuse disorder to the more preventative measures and resources for family members. As I’ve watched my family continue to grieve the loss of my cousin, I’ve realized more and more the importance of access to these resources. I joined Herren Project to honor my cousin’s memory.
