My Why
Short Version of Why I am running Boston: Too many remarkable people in my life have donated to Herren Project for me to get out of running the race!!
Long Version of Why I am Running Boston: I am surrounded by good men and women inside and outside of my family. Consistent traits among these people include but are not limited to moral courage, faith, love of family (past and present), and positive mental attitudes. Simply put, I believe these people enjoy life, and the way they live their lives is attractive and good.
I have a chance to emulate these people, whom I admire most, on a daily basis. I try to emulate them in the way I approach being a dad, a husband, a brother, a son, a friend, and a human being. In other words, I try to emulate them in the areas that matter the most. When I can do that successfully, my actions feel as if they are more aligned with the life God intended for me to live, and cool opportunities tend to present themselves.
The marathon and raising money for Herren Project are examples of new and cool opportunities. The marathon allows me to compete in a disciplined and structured way, which is the opposite of how I want to compete at my core, and in an already bright world, the Herren Project campaign allows me to shine light on an important topic to me and my community. Move Your Feet!!!!!
