Eleven years ago, I was introduced to the Herren Project when Chris Herren came to speak at my high school. It was also the same day I learned that my dad passed away and lost his battle with addiction. Since then, Chris and everyone at the Herren Project have been a huge part of my life journey. Over the past decade, I have watched this organization grow and help so many people, myself included. I’m so proud to be a part of such an amazing community and I’m eternally grateful for all of the love and support they have brought into my life.
Of course, I’m running this marathon in memory of my dad and to accomplish a personal goal. But most importantly, I’m running to help support this incredible organization and all the work that they do. My biggest hope is that with my help, the Herren Project can continue helping the millions of people affected by addiction and hopefully come into a kid’s life when they need it most, just like they did when I was sixteen.
