Jamal Rashid
I’m Jamil Rashad, aka Boulevards, and was born in Raleigh, NC. I started running when I was 12-years-old, developing into a solid runner, earning a scholarship at UNC Charlotte. After graduating, I took time off to focus on music and finding himself. In the process, I was getting into the party scene and losing myself to alcoholism for the next 12 years. No running, just chasing the high and finding myself. 5 years ago, I became emotionally bankrupt and decided that a change was needed…that I needed to search and get to the root of my problems. I entered AA desperate for help, and 5 1/2 years later, I’m still in recovery I’m learning and growing every day.
I ran my first marathon in 2021 with just a solid month of training and small running base. I ‘accidentally’ qualified for the Boston marathon. After running an awful Boston marathon in 2022, I’m coming for revenge and to redeem myself.
