My Why
I am excited to share that I’m participating in the Boston Marathon to raise funds for Herren Project, a charity dedicated to supporting those affected by addiction. 10 years ago, I had to hit rock bottom and have my world turned upside down to realize I had the world to lose. I was blinded by the darkness of addiction and was killing myself with drugs and alcohol. It was at that moment, waking up in a jail cell and realizing that if I didn’t change my ways, I would be another statistic of this horrible disease. My son Dominick is my “Why”, I was not going to let a drink or substance stand in my way to be the father he deserves and the person I wanted to be. I’ve been blessed to be able to walk on the road of recovery and want to inspire those who struggle with addiction to regain hope and live their best life. Running has given me a sense of purpose and opened so many doors in my recovery. I want to run the streets of Boston and use every mile as a reminder that WE DO RECOVER!! Your donations will help provide resources, support, and inspiration to individuals on their journey to recovery. I believe in the power of community and that together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of many. Join me in this mission to promote hope and healing—every contribution counts, no matter how large or small! Let’s end the negative stigma of addiction and show those that there is always hope and a bright light at the end of the tunnel!
