Jennifer Jacob
I’m 49 years young, married to my high-school sweetheart Eddie and mother of 2 teenage boys, Cameron and Chace. I have lived in Fall River all of my life with a close family dynamic. I work as an ophthalmic scrub technician at Advanced Eye Centers.
My desire for running started during my high-school years. During my senior year at Durfee High School, our cross country team won the 1990 MA Division 1 State Championship, and I placed in the top 10. I then ran two seasons for UMASS Dartmouth. Since then, I have run many 5ks, 10ks and half’s. Running is always my outlet. I am a foodie, and enjoy traveling, dog walks, and being by the ocean. I especially love visiting Sao Miguel Azores, where my in-laws reside.
My desire for marathons began a little over a year ago when I ran my first sub 4 at The Maine Marathon. I then ran 126th Boston Marathon for Caritas Communities, raising 15k for the charity. Next, I will be running NYC for Herren Project. I’m officially hooked.
Turning the big 50 next year, I am determined to show my boys that age is just a number and never settle. Always set goals and push to do your best no matter what age you are.
