What I do for a living: I left my job in finance 5 years ago to become a certified dog trainer and raise our award-winning doodles with my wife.
Why I choose to run Boston with Herren Project:
I met Chris Herren when I was getting sober and his “Unguarded” documentary came out. His story really affected me and helped me and another family member through sobriety. Boston has always been a dream of mine so I am extremely honored to help their cause. I am dedicating this run to my brother Mark Deffley who passed 10/31/2008 and also to David Clark, who’s story of redemption through running ultimately led me to run Boston, who also tragically passed recently from surgical complications.
What I do for fun (besides running and helping others!):
In my spare time, I play tennis, ski, skate, and ride dirt bikes.
What I’m most proud of:
I am most proud of my family, my wife Holly, and five sons Alex, Brayden, Cameron, Johnny, and Jameson. But running the Boston Marathon won’t be too far behind.
