Why I choose to run New York with Herren Project:
When I first was trying to get sober I was terrified that my life was going to be over/boring now that I wasn’t able to drink. So I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t let that happen and have since decided to celebrate my sober anniversary every year with something physically hard or that puts me out of my comfort zone. So I am running with Herren Project to celebrate 4 years sober, and help others like myself find long-term sobriety!
What I do for fun (besides running and helping others!):
Being in Colorado I tend to spend my warm months hiking and camping, and my cold months up in the mountains skiing. Outside of that, I love spending time with friends and family any chance I get!
What I’m most proud of:
Outside of running my first marathon I would say I’m most proud of how far I’ve turned my life around in 4 years. I still have a lifetime ahead of me but every day I get to look at myself in the mirror and be proud of who I’ve become.
