From: Needham, MA
What I do for a living: Owner of New England Coach Services, Inc. and International Guest House, Inc. Both companies work with Colleges and Universities, we well as other schools, to provide housing and transportation for their students.
Why I choose to run Boston with Herren Project:
Many of my close friends and family have been impacted by substance abuse. Together with Sanaa Souri we both felt it was a “good fit” based on our own past experiences. We felt it touched home more than any other charity.
What I do for fun (besides running and helping others!):
I like to scuba dive, enjoy boating with the family, cycling, and cooking.
What I’m most proud of:
My family and my employees. I have been blessed with wonderful people all around me who look to me as a leader and their integrity, strength, and trust push me forward to do better and be better. They are the foundation I use to grow in life. My 17 yr old daughter is an accomplished figure skater and hockey player, my middle one is an accomplished dancer, and the youngest one is also an accomplished skater at a competitive level who has been skating since she was 3. My wife runs every day and we often run together, pushing each other. In my office, my team of employees have been running and living a clean healthy life which in turn has propelled many to a better financial situation. We have recently hired three adults, two of whom are recovering from substance abuse, and who have turned their lives around after some coaching from my part and positive reinforcement of good habits. They in turn have made my companies more profitable I believe. Couldn’t do it without all of these people who I call family.
