Maurice Lowman
I am a passionate marathon and ultra-marathon runner fueled by the gratitude of Sobriety. I embrace my role in the local community as a cheerleader for all runners in this space. It is a privilege to be lacing up for my sixth Boston Marathon as a first-time Team Herren Project member. It has been a long-time desire of mine to join a team equally as excited as I am in the recovery and addiction awareness/prevention space.
When I am not running the streets that used to run me, you can find me at my home store of KIA of Attleboro, where I am a full-time sales and advertising specialist for Priority Automotive Group.
I will be running Boston this year, celebrating 9 years clean and sober from alcohol and substance use. What I am most proud of is the relationship I am continuing to grow with my two adult sons, who now look at their sober father as motivational and inspirational. This would never have been possible if I had not made the decision to stop using and drinking. My activities other than running include hot yoga and Pilates, where I am growing my practice in hopes of being a teacher someday.
