Stephen Thomas
My name is Stephen Thomas. To sum up my resume in a sentence, I am a former US Marine and Spanish teacher turned Real Estate Professional living in Chattanooga, TN, with my wife, Leona and my 2-year-old son, Patton. I love my family very much as I am hopefully learning how to be a good dad! Other than playing video games, running is my favorite thing to do! There is something about competing against yourself and surpassing your own physical limitations.
I am so excited to be able to run my first New York City Marathon with the Herren Project to raise money for those who struggle with substance abuse. New York is the race that motivated me to run in my first marathon, and I could not be happier to be able to run it this year. To make this even more special, I get to share this experience with my brother, Allen. We are running in memory of my sister, Shanna, and my dad, Frank, who we lost a few years ago. Though the pain of losing them will never go away, I am hopeful that our contributions will aid in the recovery of others to save good families from enduring the same.
