Herren Project Charity Running EventAt 33 years old, I am 12 years free from drugs and alcohol. May 30, 2007 is the most significant day of my life. The peace of mind, as well as the commitment and discipline required in distance running, is a vital part of my personal mental health/recovery. Having 3 small children, a wife, a career and people I help in a 12 step program, finding a moment to turn “my mind off” has always been a struggle. Running has been a powerful solution I have found over the last 3-4 years.

I have personally seen the positive impact Herren Project has had in my community, from scholarships to those in desperate need of help, to the amazing work done to destigmatize the disease of addiction.

I run to show long term recovery is possible, and people can get sober and thrive, becoming productive, honest and hardworking contributing members of society! This is a most deserved cause and it’s an honor to represent. Thank you for helping me help others!
