Meet the 2024 Spirit of Purple Winner!
Kate has been apart of Herren Project for three years. She has been on the executive board and served as secretary snd now the Vice President. She also is part of the Youth Driven Program, which is a program run by the State of Rhode Island, Department of Transportation. This Program works with students to share the dangers of driving under the influence.
Kate takes living a drug free lifestyle in earnest. She had a close family member who became an addicted to drugs. Through this experience and seeing the impact this had on the individual as well as the family, she immersed herself in learning everything she could to not head down that path. Herren Project has equipped her to become a teen mental heal first aider, and she is a go to person for many of her peers.
She also has done a lot of work learning about the danger of driving under the influence through Youth Driven. This past summer, Kate volunteered to be a leader among twelve of her peers to take part of a weeklong program. During this time, there were many workshops, different speakers as well as demonstrations from the police.
I would highly recommend Kate Dipardo for this scholarship. She is an outstanding young woman, who is consistently looking to improve herself and her community.
