Twenty-six Herren Project teammates from MA, TX, NC, VA, CA, IL, FL, OH, PA and Nairobi, Kenya met in Berlin, Germany, September 28-30th to celebrate recovery and help others as they conquered the 46th annual Berlin Marathon! This was our largest marathon team (and largest international team) to date, raising over $68,532 to support the transformative work of Herren Project.

Berlin Marathon 2019 raising funds for substance use

What turned out to be a cool and rainy day served to provide favorable conditions for some and challenging for others, as several downpours occurred later in the morning. But all conquered the challenge, with a few teammates running PRs, and each reporting an excellent, one-of-a-kind experience!

Navigating the city of Berlin, especially during marathon weekend, turned out to be a bit of an obstacle course in itself. So, while every teammate isn’t in these photos, they were ALL part of this extraordinary team.
