Herren Project is proud to partner with Big Y foods as a recipient of the Paul & Gerald D’Armour Memorial Charity Golf Outing. Big Y Supermarkets, headquartered in Springfield, MA  is family owned and operated with over 80 stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts focused on demonstrating a strong commitment to the communities they serve.

Kevin Mikolazyk, Herren Project Executive Director, and Bonnie Sawyer, Director of Advancement joined Easton Big Y Store Director, Kevin Petrillo and Joe Warnock, Night Manager, for the check presentation. The $5,000 donation will be used to support recovery navigation, housing and coaching as well as family support programs including virtual online support groups.

“Community partnerships are very important to our team,” said Mikolazyk. “It is our goal to provide recovery navigation and family outreach services to all those impacted by substance use disorder and the disease of addiction. These funds are vital as we work to extend the reach and impact of our programs.”

Herren Project is a privately funded, 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2011 by former professional basketball player and recovery advocate, Chris Herren. The mission of Herren Project is to provide assistance in taking the first steps toward recovery and a life of sobriety, educational programs and resources to increase awareness on the signs of addiction and bring hope for a better tomorrow.
