Team Herren Project made history last month when the 60-member 2019 Falmouth Road Race team raised $82,000 to fund the transformative work of Herren Project. While the size of the team and the amount they raised are impressive numbers, what’s even more impressive is the impact each teammate made by sharing their own stories and reasons for running Falmouth to support Herren Project. Several team members were featured in New Balance’s Falmouth Road Race social media posts and the official race magazine.

Race day, August 18, 2019 dawned bright, hot and humid, but that didn’t slow down Team Herren Project in the slightest. Everyone met at the Herren Project VIP Team Bus at 7 a.m. for the raucous ride to the race start. Riding to the start together and meeting at a designated place after the race proved to be a huge highlight, as many reported that it’s the relationships that mean the most to them.

One runner said, “Running is great, but it’s the people that we get to do it with and the people we get to help that matter the most! Herren Project has my support for life!”

This year’s team included athletes celebrating their own recovery, the recovery of loved ones helped by Herren Project, as well as families and loved ones honoring the memory of those lost to the disease of addiction.
