Herren Project Promotes Caitlyn Burke to Director of Advancement
Herren Project is excited to announce the promotion of Caitlyn Burke to Director of Advancement, effective immediately. In this role, Caitlyn will lead all development, outreach, and donor engagement initiatives, while also taking the helm of Team Herren Project, established by outgoing Director of Active Engagement, Pam Rickard.
Caitlyn joined Herren Project in August 2023 as Director of Donor Relations, bringing years of experience in nonprofit development and peer-to-peer fundraising. In previous roles at the SAMfund and the Brookline Community Foundation, she actively contributed to development programs—particularly charity running initiatives—gradually taking on greater leadership and responsibility. Her progression into a director-level role at Herren Project was a natural next step, reflecting her commitment to growth and impact in the nonprofit sector.
She assumes leadership of Team Herren Project following their most successful Boston Marathon team to date, which raised more than $330,000 to support Herren Project’s mission of recovery and prevention.
“We are proud to welcome Caitlyn into this leadership role,” said Bonnie Sawyer, Executive Director of Herren Project. “Her deep understanding of our mission, combined with her expertise in building relationships and engaging advocates, makes her the ideal person for this position.”
Caitlyn also shared her excitement about what’s ahead:
“It’s an incredible honor to step into this new role. Herren Project’s mission is deeply personal to so many, and I’m inspired by the passion and generosity of this community. From Team Herren Project to our incredible donor partners and supporters, I look forward to building on the strong foundation that’s been laid—continuing to grow connection, amplify impact, and ensure more individuals and families can access the help they need.”
