Youth Ambassador: Aubree Lee
In 8th grade, I was asked to write a speech about a problem in my community. As someone passionate about wellness, I chose to focus on vaping and its impact on youth. I saw firsthand how addiction was taking root—even in middle school—and I knew it was an issue I couldn’t ignore. During my research, I discovered Herren Project. Its mission to promote healthy choices and foster a supportive community immediately resonated with me. As a competitive archer for over eight years, I understand the value of discipline, wellness, and strong peer connections. Herren Project felt like the perfect fit.
In late 2023, I became a Herren Project Youth Ambassador. I joined monthly meetings and training and even started a Herren Project club at my school. But things didn’t go as planned. Membership was low, participation lagged, and I started to lose motivation. I questioned whether the effort was worth it.
Then came the Passion Project Exhibit in June 2024—a virtual event where Youth Ambassadors from across the country shared the projects they had poured their hearts into. Listening to their stories and feeling the warmth and encouragement of the Herren Project community, including Chris Herren himself, everything shifted for me.
I realized just how meaningful this experience was. Despite the miles between us, we were united by a shared commitment to wellness and positive change. That moment reminded me that even the smallest actions—like leading a school club—are part of something much bigger.
Since then, I’ve embraced a new perspective. It’s not about instant results or recognition; it’s about showing up with gratitude and purpose. Every step I take as a Youth Ambassador is part of a powerful movement, and I do it because I love it.
Being part of the Herren Project has brought so much meaning to my life. It’s helped me build community, spread wellness, and stay inspired. I carry that purpose with me every day—and I’m proud to be part of something that truly makes a difference.
