Herren Project Executive Director Departing

With both sadness and gratitude, Herren Project is announcing the departure of its Executive Director, Kevin Mikolazyk, as of today July 12, 2021. Kevin has been with Herren Project since 2012. He has led the organization in the role of Executive Director since December of 2017 and was integral in helping to develop the treatment navigation, family support services, and recovery scholarship program. He also led the organization through a rebrand and restructuring in January of 2019, which has been instrumental in increased programming and staff to strengthen the reach and impact of Herren Project as a leader in addiction nonprofits.

Effective immediately, Bonnie Sawyer, Director of Advancement, will take the role of Interim Executive Director. Bonnie has been with Herren Project since 2012, where she began on the Board of Directors. Joining the staff in 2013, she was influential in developing the treatment, recovery, support services, and prevention programs at Herren Project. In 2019 she accepted the role as the Director of Advancement overseeing all development, marketing, outreach, and prevention initiatives. We are confident that Bonnie and the staff will make a smooth transition for our clients, partners, and supporters.

“We wish Kevin well on his next chapter. He gave his heart and soul over the past nine years and undoubtedly left a mark on Herren Project and our entire community. We are grateful for his service and friendship and excited to see what the future holds. He will be missed, but I have great confidence in the leadership of Bonnie Sawyer as we enter the next decade of Herren Project.” – Ryan Connolly, Board President
